Phra Tamnak Hill (Khao Pattaya)


Phratumnak Hill is located at the border of South Pattaya and Jomtien. The top of the hill is one of the best viewpoint overlooking the crescent bay of Pattaya. It is a popular spot amogst the tourists, especially at the sunset and at night when the city is lit up. Wat Khao Phra Bat, the Monument of Kromluang Chomphonkhetudomsak, the founding Father of modern Thai Navy, Phra Phut Sukhothai Cholatan, Buddha image in Subduing Mara gesture and Thai Navy's radio station are also located on the hilltop. At the foot of the hill, there is a public park. TAT office is also located nearby.How to get there: From Sukhumvit Rd., turn right at the road sign to South Pattaya. Turn left at the first traffic light, continue until reaching a-5-way intersection. Turn left to Phratamnak Rd. and turn right again towards Royal Cliff Beach Garden Resort. Drive uphill. There is a parking lot catering up to 40 - 50 cars.

Pattaya Walking Street

 

Pattaya Walking Street is the most famous place in Pattaya city. There is a variety of night entertainments in Walking Street. Since there are a number of foreign people visiting this street, it is seen like an Pattaya International Meeting Street.  This Walking Street locates from Beach Road of south Pattaya to the Bali-Hi Pier. There is a large sign of Pattaya Walking Street at the entrance connecting to Beach road. Although this street is called Walking Street, it is not free of vehicles 24 hours. At the day time, this street is used for transportation in Pattaya, whereas at the night time (approximately 18.00 – 02.00), this street is closed from vehicles and changed to another street expressing a completely different atmosphere, with an amount of colored neon signage.  However, in the case that visitors come to Walking Street by a vehicle, they can park their vehicles at the Bali-Hi end.
 

Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum


Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum is a famous museum founded by Robert Ripley from the United States, who managed to collect over 300 mystical, exotic and unusual items from all over the world, divided into 10 individual themes including optical illusion, primitive torture devices including masks made from human skin, humans with 4 eyes, horses with 3 legs, a replica of the Titanic made from a million matchsticks. The museum also features the Motion Master Theatre with flight simulator technology.

Wat Chai Mongkhon


The temple is located in the heart of South Pattaya area. It has a prayer hall housing Chinarat Buddha image and Chai Mongkhon Buddha image from the Sukhothai Period, aged more than 350 years. It also features the Hall of 3-era Buddha, a pagoda built of ores from Ko Lan, a prayer hall housing a large Buddha of 49 inches lap and 160 inches high. The hall is adorn with mural paintings. This temple was once called Wat Thap Phraya. The temple was constructed around 1937. After a monk on pilgrimage arrived and put up a tent in the area, local people then built residences and other religious structures until it became a temple.

The Sanctuary of Truth (Prasat Satchatham)


Satchatham Temple is a wooden temple, located by the sea. It was designed by Lek Wiriyapan, the founder of the Ancient City at Samut Prakan Province in 1981. The Temple is entirely built with wood. The beauty of the Temple is elaborated through wood dwellings and woodcarvings. It is considered an exotic and imposing architectural work of art of the century, embellishing with artwork and woodcarvings which reflects the intellect and spirit of the Eastern civilization and art. It also reflects the importance of religion which has helped to uphold the world. The Temple received the award of Outstanding Tourist Attraction from the Tourism Industry Awards in 2008.
